The City and the Storm

The City and the Storm is Jeremiah Daniel Sater's debut novel. He started writing the book in 2013, while he was an English tutor at his college. As he walked in circles waiting to help other aspiring writers or those just struggling through English 101, he dreamed up the world of Solisternum. He grew up with sci-fi movies and television shows and reading fantasy books filled with magic and dragons. His initial idea, and still a driving force of the unique world of Solisternum, was to have magic and technology come together to form something unique.

The Blurb

A city full of secrets.

A dangerous storm.

A burden placed on the shoulders of a boy…

Zayne Radi is the son of a Council Representative, and his life has been quite normal until his graduation. Now, his life is about to deviate from his peers in Epis City. While most graduates of the Alfaron Faction leave their city, Zayne remains to study under the Prava Council, desperate to understand the leaders that hold his absent father’s respect.

When a storm descends upon the city, the Council insists Zayne and his peers are immune to the danger. And when the city shuts down to protect the adults, the Council chooses the most recent graduates to watch over the city. Doubt shrouds Zayne’s view of his father’s loyalty as he steps into the storm.

Zayne’s determination to close the gap between him and his father push him through the uncertainty. But his search for truth blinds him to the danger that hides in the storm—and all the while, the true danger lies elsewhere . . .
